Six Transsolar projects awarded new “climate positive” rating

The German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) introduced the new rating “climate positive” for the first time at the Expo Real in Munich on October 8, 2019. The guidelines for this new rating state that the CO2 emissions caused by the building and its use must be lower than the emissions avoided by the building's own production and export of greenhouse gas-free energy.
Eleven buildings have received the award, six of which are Transsolar projects: a residential building in Freising, Elobau's logistics center in Leutkirch and production building in Probstzella, the event building Hofgut Karpfsee Langes Haus in Bad Heilbrunn and the Volksbank branch in Kirchheimbolanden. The School of Design and Environment at the University of Singapore is the first international project to receive this award.
