Daniel Kiehlmann at "Energie Zukunft Tirol" | Smart Building to Beat the Heat

On June 17, the event “Energie Zukunft Tirol – Smart Building Against the Heat” will take place in Innsbruck. Daniel Kiehlmann, partner in Munich, will give a presentation on climate engineering and will discuss the joint project to expand a vocational school in Tyrol with architect Volker Flamm.

Tyrol is feeling the effects of global warming more clearly than ever before: Rising temperatures are bringing more hot days, more intense extreme weather events, and increasing health risks. The Inn Valley, in particular, will be among the state’s heat hotspots in the coming years. This increases the pressure on planners to ensure comfortable indoor spaces even in the summer.

Daniel Kiehlmann will open the conference with a presentation on climate-adaptive, holistic planning strategies that keep interiors comfortable even on hot days. Together with Flamm, he will present the example of the Tyrolean vocational school for photography, optics, and hearing acoustics, whose renovation enables a nearly passive indoor climate concept and a positive annual energy balance.

Other program items address challenges in existing buildings as well as climate-adapted outdoor spaces. A tour of the GeiWi forecourt, which serves as a testing ground for students, offers insights into current interventions. The event concludes with an open discussion and networking.

Registration is free.
