In the last two days Transsolar met for our Summer project day. Since COVID is keeping our New York colleagues from travelling, and we do not want to take the risk of crowding in our Stuttgart office, we just met virtually. At peak times 80 people took part. We were especially excited that many of our Transsolar Academy Alumni joined us!
Unexpectedly this was not tiring nor boring at any moment, even though our schedule went from 11:30 CEST/ 5:30 am EST to 18:00 CEST/ 12:00 pm EST on Thursday and from 14:00 CEST/ 8 am EST to 18:00 CEST / 12:00 pm EST.
We started with the guest speaker Nirmal Tulsidas Kishnani, the author of Ecopuncture, sharing "A Tale of Four Cities – How the challenges faced by Asian cities must be first understood so we can design better buildings and neighborhoods”. See the Ecopuncture Interviews for more information about this approach.
Today ended with a 3D virtual tour of the Axel Springer Campus in Berlin, after having the great opportunity to listen to the design architects of OMA talking about the story of this project come to reality.
We had fun and laughs – thank you New York for the carnival interlude (see picture above). Our organization team set-up two amazing days packed with exchange on important topics, that drive our work currently. It was worthwhile to be part of this project day at every moment.
The most amazing take-away: seeing each other and chatting made us feel connected again. THANK YOU all!
