The Bioclimatic Design Workshop in Florence 24.-28.10.2016 addresses that "Designing for change is getting more and more important... This might be addressing demographic change but also global warming".
Teachers and students from the University of Florence, the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Strasbourg (I.N.S.A.) Strasbourg, the HS Kaiserslautern and Beuth Hochschule für Technik Berlin will meet our former Transsolar Academy Fellows - Gabriela Barbulescu, Vu Hoang, and Marcela Rodrigues Potting. In the workshop design strategies will be discussed that allow tackling this challenge. The participants will discuss how vernacular architecture always provides an architectural answer to environmental parameters. Four professors along with the Fellows of the Transsolar Academy will provide input. Groups will work in detail on the topics: building in a warm (humid) climate, transferring traditional approaches, designing with solar radiation in mind, and high indoor comfort with low-tech solutions.
