Wolfgang Kessling Concludes Singapore Sabbatical with Lecture Tour in Australia

At the end of November, Wolfgang Kessling will travel to Australia to visit the construction progress of the Atlassian Headquarters in Sydney. Coinciding with this visit, he will give two presentations that highlight his knowledge and research focus on climate-responsive architecture and future-ready building design.

In Melbourne, Wolfgang has been invited by the Department of Architecture at Monash University to speak as part of the Inside | Practice guest lecture series. Hosted at Jackson Clements Burrows Architects (JCB) and open to the public, his lecture –“Climate, Carbon, Architecture – What Was the Question? What if Buildings Needed Less to Offer More Comfort?”– will explore how reducing architectural complexity can unlock new forms of climate-conscious comfort.

In Sydney, he will deliver a second talk at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) titled “Between Indoors and Outdoors – Climate-Responsive Architecture for Hot, Dry, and Humid Environments.” This presentation examines how deeper insights into climate, comfort, and ventilation can shape both architectural design and broader urban strategies, especially in extreme climates.

This short lecture tour and trip to Australia also marks the conclusion of Wolfgang’s sabbatical in Singapore, rounding out a period of teaching, research, and collaboration worldwide.
