Melis became a member of Transsolar during her Master’s studies in Italy, where she specialized in architecture for sustainable design.

Her Master’s thesis involved categorizing the city of Turin into various urban morphological types, followed by an examination of the microclimatic reactions to different urban forms in Turin using Computational Fluid Dynamics. By making use of her skillset that includes outdoor comfortstudies, CFD, daylight analysis, and thermal simulations, she integrates her architectural vision with engineering practices to craft innovative sustainability concepts and applications.
