Erik Olsen will deliver a keynote presentation at the Facade Tectonics 2026 World Congress in Pittsburgh on Thursday, October 1, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. EST. His talk, “The Future is Low-Tech. Is the Future Low-Tech?”, explores how Transsolar’s work has shifted toward low-tech design strategies over the past two decades while maintaining a focus on human-centered environments, low energy demand, and low carbon emissions. Erik will reflect on this trajectory and discuss what tomorrow’s facades may require as the industry reconsiders the meaning of “low-tech.”
The keynote is part of the Facade Tectonics 2026 World Congress, the Facade Tectonics Institute’s premier international conference on building envelope innovation. This year’s congress received more than 130 submissions from around the world, underscoring the global relevance of discussions on facade performance, sustainability, resilience, and design.
