Following its successful launch in Reutlingen with more than 250 participants, the Building the Future Innovation Day will stop in Hamburg on September 25, 2026. The event brings together experts from planning, science, industry, and politics to discuss current challenges facing the construction and real estate sectors and to explore solutions for the future of building.
The program focuses on affordable housing, sustainable urban development, innovative construction methods, fire safety, digitalization, circular economy, and climate engineering. Across four thematic sessions, innovative approaches will be presented and discussed with professionals from public authorities, architecture, engineering, project development, industry, and construction.
Thomas Auer will speak about the importance of climate-responsive building design in times of increasing heat stress: “Last summer showed us how important climate-responsive building design is, both for new construction and, above all, for existing buildings. Technology and air conditioning alone cannot and will not be the solution.”
Another highlight of the day will be the expert panel and strategic discussion featuring Markus Lanz, Tim-Oliver Müller, Dirk Haecker, Alexander Wellisch, and other guests from politics, business, and professional practice.
