Transsolar will once again participate in the Regenerative Metropolis Symposium, organized by New York Passive House on September 18, 2026 at Parsons The New School, NYC. The annual symposium brings together leading voices from across the built environment to discuss regenerative design, resilient communities, and the future of sustainable urban development.
This year's event explores the theme of regenerative economics, examining how buildings and cities can move beyond sustainability toward approaches that are restorative, resilient, and socially equitable. Topics include circular construction, prefabrication, material efficiency, retrofit strategies, and the role of finance in driving climate-positive development.
Transsolar's Tommaso Bitossi and Thomas Bamber will be among the speakers contributing to the program, sharing some findings on the economics of high-performance façades in mild climates, for better or worse!
With the help of a case study, their presentation will explorer where Passive House’s strictest requirements may produce diminishing returns compared to other non–envelope first approaches.
