Transsolar recently welcomed a group of engineering and political science students from the University of Virginia in our stuttgart office. The visit is part of the university’s Global Technology Practice Program, organised by the University of Stuttgart.
Based in Stuttgart, the program explores how technology, culture, and societal values shape innovation, while offering students international perspectives on engineering, sustainability, and professional practice.
During their visit, Matthias Schuler, Michelle Hur, and Nadir Abdessemed hosted a workshop centered around the question: “Can Technology Save Our Climate?”. The visit of this inspiring and very interdisciplinary mix of talent was a very unique opportunity for Transsolar to expand our horizon on Climate, Technology, Culture and Economics involved. The Transsolar team shared stories about the highs and lows of their work at Transsolar, the development of the TRNSYS software, and their project experience—particularly their collaborations with architects such as Helmut Jahn, Frank Gehry, SANAA, and Jean Nouvel.
We would like to thank the students for their curiosity, thoughtful questions, and engaging discussions. Visits like these demonstrate the value of international exchange and collaboration in shaping a more sustainable future. Thank you for your important visit!
