On December 8, Tobias Fiedler will speak as part of the "TGA Talks" lecture series at HafenCity University Hamburg. The series is aimed at students of Building Services Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Architecture, addressing current topics in building design and technology.
The first December session features a special highlight: the Elbphilharmonie.
How does the climate control of one of Germany’s most impressive buildings actually work?
Tobias will offer exclusive insights behind the technical scenes and present the thermal simulations conducted by Transsolar, which were used during the planning phase to optimize the building’s performance. Henner Steppin from Winter Ingenieure Hamburg will complement the presentation with insights into the Elbe water cooling system, ventilation, and smoke extraction, showing how these systems keep the Elbphilharmonie reliably cool, well ventilated, and safe.
Participants can look forward to an engaging session led by experts directly involved in developing these exceptional solutions. A lecture that promises to be equally inspiring for both students and faculty.
