Duration: from 5 months
Start date: flexible, preferably from autumn

We are looking for new interns. Ideally, you have an engineering, architectural, or applied science background, combined with an interest in the built environment and a desire to work in interdisciplinary teams. We work with architects and building owners on construction projects all over the world. We participate in a wide range of projects of all scales, such as a small school in an emerging country, a stadium, or even an entire city. In addition, we work on artistic installations that engage with our field of expertise.

As an intern with us, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, apply your skills in hands‑on project work, and expand your knowledge across a wide range of tasks:

• Development of climate and energy concepts in relation to architectural
visions, local climate conditions, and specific building uses
• Development, testing, and validation of architectural concepts using shading studies,
daylight simulations, and dynamic thermal simulations, with the goal of
minimizing building‑related energy emissions
• Technical analysis and tool development, including hand calculations, spreadsheet modeling,
and advanced simulation tools (e.g., daylight and airflow simulations)
• Collaboration with other simulation specialists, synthesis of
results, and communication of findings
• Graphic representation of climate concepts and complex technical analyses
• Participation in internal and external meetings, as well as on‑site visits

Required qualifications for an internship:

• Background in engineering, architecture, or natural sciences,
with interest in the built environment and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Knowledge or academic focus in building physics, thermodynamics,
building systems, and/or fluid mechanics
• Creativity, teamwork skills, and passion for architecture
• Ability to analyze and solve physical and technical challenges
• Interest in designing, conducting, and measuring experiments
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• German language skills are desirable but not required
