Transsolar advocates sustainability, not only in construction projects but also in everyday life. The basic principle is: wherever possible, it is better to reuse than to recycle or even throw away.
This also applies to computer hardware: Time and again, laptops are taken out of service because, as in our engineering department, they no longer meet the ever-increasing demands. We have donated laptops whose technology still works, i.e. which are not scrap.
Mediated by the German association EWAKA e.V., the devices are now being used by the ENDASI Foundation, a non-governmental organization in Uganda, East Africa, which supports children in need.
Equipped again with new software, they serve now for educational purposes.
