Lombard Odier New Headquarters "One Roof", Geneva, Switzerland

One Roof, the new headquarters of Geneva's private bank Lombard-Odier & Cie, is designed to bring its 2,600 employees together in one place. The project is located on the shores of Lake Geneva, in Bellevue, near Geneva. The building consists of eleven floors, three of which are underground. It was constructed using superimposed slabs and columns, forming curved and transparent facades. It features indoor parking, a dedicated customer area, offices, a cafeteria, a fitness center, an 800-seat auditorium, and multi-purpose areas to meet all employee needs.

Climate responsive design is at the heart of this project, notably visible in the slabs that extend outward to protect the triple-glazed facades from solar radiation while maintaining access to natural light and views towards outside. Thanks to the atrium and its electrochromic glass canopy, daylight penetrates to the core of the building.

All the spaces are heated and cooled by radiant systems – radiant panels or reversible underfloor heating – and ventilated using the displacement ventilation principle to ensure both thermal comfort and high indoor air quality, while reducing energy consumption.

The concrete ceiling not covered by radiant panels, representing 30% of the surface, make use of the apparent thermal mass, naturally buffering internal temperature swings.

The energy supply for heating and cooling relies on 100% renewable sources as the project is connected to the Genilac energy district, which draws its ‘energy’ from the depths of Lake Geneva. Finally, 750 m² of photovoltaic panels on the roof complete the on-site sustainable energy production.

The project has achieved certifications of MINERGIE-P, BREEAM OUTSTANDING (95.2%) and SNBS PLATINUM.
