Isabela Tavares and Melis Özalp are giving a guest lecture at the Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV) in Brazil. Together they will speak to the students of the Department of Architecture and Urbanism as part of the course Environmental Performance of Buildings and the Urban Environment (ARQ 623), coordinated by Prof. Matheus Menezes.
Their lecture, titled “Microclimatic Modeling as an Urban Design Tool: Applied Cases with ENVI-met in Transsolar KlimaEngineering Experiences,” will discuss how microclimatic simulations can support urban design strategies aimed at improving outdoor thermal comfort and pedestrian experience.
They will share insights from their work at Transsolar KlimaEngineering in Stuttgart, connecting environmental performance analysis with urban morphology and human-centered design.
