Expert panel unveils plan for “Floating Cities” at United Nations, New York

On Wednesday, April 3, Transsolar’s Erik Olsen and Stefan Holst were invited to present along with a panel of other experts to the United Nations on the topic of “Floating Cities.”

Led by Oceanix – a company focused on building off-shore urban infrastructure that will help people weather the problems of rising seas – Olsen and Holst were a part of a group of collaborators, including architects, zero waste, mobility, and water engineering experts, who unveiled a plan for what a sustainable floating city could look like.

The initiative sparked the interest of the United Nations as well as media around the globe.
