On 23 October 2025, Dr. Nadir Abdessemed took part in this year's Kongress BW 2025 Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy Summit. In the forum "Shaping the future: Six impulses with solutions for a climate-neutral transformation“, he gave a presentation on ”Climate Design Thinking - Technology, Design or Culture?".
In his presentation, Dr. Nadir Abdessemed emphasized that climate and space must be understood as an inseparable unit - climate is not an external factor, but an integral part of architecture. He criticized technology-driven, oversized construction, which often only simulates sustainability, and instead called for moderate, needs-oriented planning. Sustainability is above all a cultural and communicative task that requires simplicity, responsibility and cooperation. A new planning culture with clear goals and locally anchored solutions should point the way to truly climate-friendly architecture.
