Concept and technique for the board are products of discussions and conclusions of the introduction module. Before making the decision what to do, it was necessary to reflect and analyze on the matter of personal impact, learning, sustainability and production.
Criteria is the minimal use of resources for maximal impact. Technique was chosen for the respect towards the material. I decided not to use any excess material from “outside” sources like the magazines; instead, the paper peeled from the board was re-used as the tool of expression.
Concept of the board is “The Process”. It can be understood as the process or course of life, as the process of growth, learning etc.
The board was understood as Tabula rasa. Eight paper strips are used as the frame (basis) around which I weaved the paper strips (peels). Imperfections in the process were not planned but were expected, and the construction was not meant to have finished borders. Just like in life or learning, there is no real end, perfect result or pattern to follow.
