Adrian Turcato was among the presenters at this year’s Façade Tectonics World Congress in Los Angeles. This year’s theme was “SKINS on Campus – Bridging Industry and Academia in Pursuit of Better Buildings and Urban Habitat.”
Adrian presented on thermal analysis of complex glazing, showing that the use of bidirectional scattering distribution function incorporated in a transient systems simulation program, allows engineers to accurately determine glazing surface temperatures for complex glazing assemblies in architecturally ambitious projects. Examples of this approach are two Transsolar projects, Grace Farms in New Canaan, Connecticut, and the new Little Caesars’ corporate headquarters in Detroit, Michigan.
