Krista Palen | Panelist | From the Ground Up: Sustainable Placemaking in Toronto

Get a first look at George Brown College’s latest addition to its Waterfront Campus in Toronto: Limberlost Place.

From the Ground Up: Sustainable Placemaking in Toronto takes place next Tuesday, June 24, and will kick off a conversation that continues at the CTBUH 2025 International Conference, taking place this fall from October 6–9, 2025.

Krista Palen will join a panel discussion alongside other key contributors to the conception, construction, and development of Limberlost Place. The building itself will take center stage—serving as both the venue and a live case study, offering attendees an exclusive inside look.

Transsolar collaborated closely with the project team to develop a climate-responsive façade and an integrated ventilation strategy that brings natural airflow and daylight into all student spaces.

Limberlost Place is a recipient of two 2024 Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Awards of Excellence: the Innovation Award and the Structure Award.
