After 5 years of work, la Seine Musicale, designed by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, has now opened to the public at the tip of Ile Seguin, western Paris. Dedicated to culture and music, the building’s prevailing features lie in a wooden spherical auditorium with a ‘sail’ made of photovoltaic panels, which tracks the sun path, and an excellent acoustic performance, which is now one of the main references in France.
The scope of work for Transsolar was mainly focused on optimizing the building design and construction regarding its environmental performance and energy consumptions. Transsolar also supported the entire HQE certification process of the project, leading to the achievement of an extremely ambitious environmental profile with 11 targets completed at a "Very Performant" level.
