We are excited to share that the Scenic Hudson Northside Hub in Poughkeepsie, New York, received two awards at the Built Environment Plus Green Building Showcase in Boston: Carbon and Energy and Green Building of the Year.
Led by MASS Design Group, the adaptive reuse project transformed two former industrial buildings into offices for Scenic Hudson and spaces for community events, meetings, and educational activities. As part of the project team, Transsolar developed the climate concept together with MASS Design Group, with the goal of creating a positive impact for both people and the surrounding natural systems.
The project combines passive and active strategies, including façade-based natural ventilation, an all-electric heating and cooling system, energy recovery, and on-site photovoltaics. The site is designed to produce 100% of its annual electricity demand on-site.
The theme of the awards evening was that “it takes a village” to bring projects like this to life. We could not agree more. Congratulations to the entire project team on this shared achievement.
