From May 6-8 the The Living Future 2025 conference is held in Portland, Oregon. This event is an exciting opportunity for leaders from diverse industries to come together, share ideas, and accelerate the movement toward a regenerative world.
Erik Olsen, Carol Phillips, Partner at Moriyama Teshima Architects, and Merritt Bucholz, Founding Director at Bucholz McEvoy Architects will share key lessons on prioritizing human-centered design on two of Toronto's most innovative and anticipated mass timber projects—TRCA Headquarters and Limberlost Place. In the session, “Building Healthier Futures with Human-Centered Design”, Erik, Carol, and Merritt will discuss both projects which emphasize daylight access, natural ventilation, and a deep connection to the exterior environment, yet approached their goals with distinct priorities throughout their integrated design processes. They’ll review project specifics before diving into how the teams navigated budget, procurement, and regulatory challenges while keeping owners focused on human well-being. Participants will even participate in an exercise to apply the principles learned in the very room hosting the session!
Erik is thrilled to contribute to the conversation at #LivingFuture2025, where he’ll be discussing groundbreaking research and innovative solutions. Don’t miss out! Join him in Portland next week> https://lf25.org/register.
