The Veronica Rudge Green Prize in Urban Design recognizes exemplary urban design projects from around the world. Awarded biennially by Harvard University Graduate School of Design, it honors initiatives that make significant contributions to the public realm, enhance the quality of urban life, and point toward a humane and sustainable urban future.
This year’s 2025 winner, the Campus of the Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture (RICA), embodies these values. Located in Rwanda’s Eastern Province, RICA is an undergraduate institution dedicated to advancing practical, modern, and sustainable agricultural practices. Its mission is to educate the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders who will shape the future of agriculture in Rwanda and beyond.
Transsolar is proud to have contributed to this remarkable project, led by MASS Design Group, who oversaw the master planning, architecture, landscape, engineering, furniture design and fabrication, and construction.
For those interested in exploring the project in more depth, Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design is showcasing an exhibition of RICA at the Druker Design Gallery, open Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., through December 21, 2025. More info >
